Tottenham transfer news: Will Gareth Bale return to Real Madrid this summer?
Tottenham transfer news: Will Gareth Bale return to Real Madrid this summer after completing his one-year long loan spell with Spurs.
- Gareth Bale might not return to Tottenham, according to reports
- The 31-year-old Wales international joined his forces with Jose Mourinho’s side before the start of the 2020/21 campaign
- He has scored 3 goals and assisted another 2 to his teammates in only 3 Premier League starts this season
Gareth Bale might not return to Real Madrid after completing his season-long loan spell with Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Daily Mirror.
That doesn’t mean that Bale, whose Madrid contract entitles him to a weekly salary of £600,000, would join Tottenham on a permanent transfer this summer.
Instead, recent reports claim that the 31-year-old Wales international would want Los Blancos to honor the final year of his contract even if he doesn’t play for them again.
Such a situation would be perfect for Tottenham who might be tempted by the idea of signing the Welshman on another season-long loan after the end of his current stay at the club.
Zinedine Zidane’s side too may not dislike the idea of having Bale on their payroll for another season. Mainly because Spurs, under the terms they signed Bale on a loan last summer, are paying the Welshman a massive £250,000 per week of his £600,000 per week salary.
Will Bale start for Spurs against Fulham?
After scoring 2 goals and providing an assist during his side’s 4-0 victory over Burnley last weekend, chances are bright that Bale will start for Tottenham on Thursday against Fulham. Especially when one considers the significance of this fixture for the North London outfit.
Spurs have fallen down to 8th in the Premier League table after losing three and winning just two of their last five games in the Premier League. They’d therefore need all the help they could get from Bale to put together a winning run in their challenge for a top-four finish.
