Will Ronaldo leave Juventus? Old Lady’s chief addresses the Portuguese’s exit rumors after his 22minute hattrick against Cagliari
- Juventus chief Fabio Patrici has dismissed rumors stating Cristiano Ronaldo will leave the club in the summer transfer window
- The 34-year-old Portugal international has been linked with a return move to Real Madrid in recent weeks
- Ronaldo silenced his critics by scoring a first-half hat-trick against Cagliari in Serie A on Sunday
Juventus have no intentions of letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club in the upcoming summer transfer window, club chief Fabio Patrici confirmed Sunday.
The 36-year-old Portugal international has been linked with a return to Manchester United and Real Madrid over the past few months.
Rumors that he’d be leaving the Old Lady intensified after Andrea Pirlo’s side failed to get the better of Pirlo in the Champions League R-16 earlier this week.
Ronaldo wasn’t able to score in either leg of the tie as the Portuguese outfit dumped Serie A champions out of Europe’s elite competition on away goals.
The Old Lady’s elimination from the competition earlier this week means that the club’s wait for its first Champions League in the 21st century will prolong by at least one more season.
And whether Ronaldo will be there to help the Serie A outfit achieve that goal was a matter of speculation before his 22-minute hattrick on Sunday afternoon.
His three-goal contribution on Sunday means that the former Los Blancos star has now scored a staggering 92 goals in only 121 appearances for Juventus since joining the club in the summer of 2018.
Patrici: Ronaldo will not leave Juventus this summer
“Cristiano will be the future of Juventus, absolutely. I’m sure about it,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“It's a privilege to have Cristiano. We enjoy him, and we're very happy to have this kind of champions with us”.
“He surely represents the future of Juventus.”
